Callahan Foundation Awards Grant to Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland

The mission of The Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland (“The Free Clinic”) is to address vital community health needs by providing high quality healthcare and related services to individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay, and by advocating for policy changes that promote greater access for the underserved and improved community-wide health and wellness outcomes.

The Free Clinic offers financially barrier-free high quality healthcare to thousands of poor and medically underserved in our region each year, most of who live at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.

The Callahan Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to support general operating costs to help sustain overall infrastructure while the Health Center responds to the growing and more complex healthcare needs of patients and continues to move toward a more sustainable model of care in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.

As a result of philanthropic support from the Callahan Foundation in 2015, the Health Center was able to provide a wide range of healthcare and related services for the medically underserved Northeast Ohio residents.
