Callahan Foundation Awards Grant to Magnolia Clubhouse’s “Community of Growth Capital Campaign”

One of the first of its kind in the country, Magnolia Clubhouse (formerly known as Hill House) is a premier center for psychosocial rehabilitation. Magnolia Clubhouse has a rich history of supporting those battling mental illness and enabling them to lead fulfilling lives through vocational, educational, social and personal achievement. Its mission is to ensure that people who live with mental illness are respected co-workers, neighbors and friends.

While Magnolia Clubhouse has maintained its yearly member capacity and increased staffing to meet growing demand, it has been forced to create a waiting list of nearly 100 people at various times over the past decade. In an effort to address the community’s needs surrounding mental illness and rehabilitation, Magnolia Clubhouse launched the “Community of Growth Capital Campaign,” a four-phase initiative to physically expand its facility and assist more of those in need. The first three completed phases total $2 million in raised capital and the final project phase is underway.

The Callahan Foundation has awarded a $35,000 grant to Magnolia Clubhouse to support the final phase of the campaign, which will increase its current service capacity from 350 to 700 people annually.
